Allied is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Well.

In the role of Maintenance Technician, you will support The Well’s day-to-day operations through maintenance tasks like painting, drywall repair and minor repairs among others. This, in turn, allows Allied to bring to life our mission to provide our users with distinctive urban workspace.

The Well is a unique and innovative joint venture between Allied and Riocan.
Located at Spadina and Front, The Well brings together three million square feet of retail, office, and residential space constructed over 7.7 acres. Through this, The Well sets the stage for meaningful experiences that draw people from down the street and across the globe to eat, shop, work, live and play in Toronto.

What will you do?
Collaborate with all departments to ensure efficient, safe, and smooth building operations.
Respond promptly to tenant inquiries and concerns, providing effective and courteous solutions.
Record all work performed using the Yardi work order management system.
Address all tenant and Property Management requests generated through the Yardi preventative maintenance system.
Perform minor maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, drywall, painting, lamp replacement, lubrication, and plumbing fixture repairs.
Ensure all building systems and equipment are operated safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Conduct and document preventative maintenance tasks as prescribed for all building systems and equipment.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms, shops, and common areas.
Ensure signage and lighting are functional and properly maintained.
Support Building Operators with regular monitoring, testing, and inspections of fire alarm, sprinkler, and building security systems, reporting any deficiencies.
Coordinate and schedule maintenance, repairs, and replacements with approved contractors as needed.
Oversee contractor work on site to ensure service levels, safety standards, and contract terms are met.
Maintain and track tools, supplies, and equipment inventory; request replacements as required.
Respond to after-hours calls and emergencies as needed.
Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting, and landscaping (planting and watering).
Support on-site logistics including deliveries, pick-ups, and event setup requirements.
Ensure ongoing compliance with company policies, procedures, and government regulations while upholding building standards and operational efficiencies.
What are we looking for?
At least 2 years of experience in building operations or general maintenance in a commercial, retail or industrial environment.
Strong, hands-on knowledge of general maintenance
Sound knowledge of building systems and emergency procedures.
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) and First Aid and CPR training.
Knowledge of Provincial Building Code & Regulations, Canadian Electrical Code, Provincial Fire Code and Electrical Safety Authority.
Experience in working at heights and use of booms and lifts an asset.
An assertive self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Great time management skills and ability to prioritize work in order to deliver successful results within agreed upon time frames.

Good oral, written communication and customer service skills.
Collaborative and team player.
Adaptable to new ideas and change.
Computer literate (knowledge of Yardi/Angus Anywhere is an asset).
