Summary
The Automation Technician’s role is to support and initiate automation programs throughout the facility by implementing and maintaining automation projects, programs and equipment.

Job Duties
Program and maintain robots and automated equipment to comply with customer specifications (gate cutting, injection, sonic welding);
Program and/or maintain all control devices (PLCs, Control Panels, HMI’s, Motor Controllers);
Troubleshoot and repair all automated equipment to maintain productivity on a day-to-day basis (Controls, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Transfers);
Assist in engineering quality, productivity, and reliability (Continuous Improvement, Tracking cycle time);
Maintain and monitor proper safe operations of all equipment;
Maintain all equipment through preventative maintenance procedures;
EOA / Machine start-up;
EOA7 / build;
Back-up programs (Robot, PLC);
Requirements
Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field (Electromechanical Engineering Technician, Electronics/Electrician Technician, or Technology Diploma) 2-year program.
Minimum 1 year ABB/NACHI/FANUC Robot programming experience;
Electrical schematic reading skills and AB SLC500 Studio 5000 series, HMI, PLC programming ability.
Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities

Excellent time management and project management skills
High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
Able to work well under pressure

Proven ability to troubleshoot

Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.
