Position Summary
Reporting to the SOCC Manager, the Crew Scheduler is responsible for management of crew members’ monthly schedule once it has been released. They are also responsible for the daily adjustment of crew assignments as needed in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and the applicable Collective Agreements.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Ensure that all flight crew have checked in and/or been notified of their flight schedule in accordance with Company policies and contract agreements
Ensure that updated information is provided to Flight Followers, Commercial Operations and the Flight Dispatch Centre as Airline management software is updated
Communicate to applicable departments any delays that will occur due to crewing issues (same day and future)
Prepare various reports including daily, monthly and annual Operational reports
Possess the ability to make informed decisions without compromising internal policies/procedures
Assist with the monthly crewing of aircraft as may be required from time to time by Crew Planning
Ensure that crewing is correct for future days’ operations
Look ahead for future crewing and ensure that resources are allocated accordingly
Provide training and mentoring to new crew schedulers, ensuring that the SOCC is maximizing operational effectiveness
Monitor the crew scheduling software, consulting and communicating with all departments to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently
Predict “real time” and organize all crew assignments through airline management software
Work with Flight Follower and Dispatch to communicate flight assignment changes to appropriate crew members
Assign crews day to day based on the monthly schedule created by the Crew Planner, reassign crew members as required for flight and duty purposes or operational requirements, in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and the applicable Collective Agreements
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
Transport Canada Generic Dispatch Exams (FDMET and FDOPS) are considered an asset, but not required
Canadian Radio License (Aeronautical) required
Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
Prior experience in operations, crew scheduling and/or flight coordination preferred
Strong customer service experience considered an asset
Previous experience with Airline Management software programs considered an asset
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
Working Conditions
Physically able to perform all listed job duties
Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone
Modified work agreement (7 on 7 off or Monday-Friday)
Shiftwork may be required (days, evenings and/or night shift)
Various shifts and at a fast pace in order to meet service level requirements of the airline
Work performed primarily in an office environment
Able to work outside of public transit hours
Occasional lifting of approximately 30 lbs may be required
Physical location of this position is only accessible via a flight of stairs
