ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the IT Coordinator, the IT Technician is an integral part of the IT
team supporting Gibraltar Mine’s 400 users. Responsibilities range from hands-on
to remote desktop support, as well as application support and on-site physical
installations of technology.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Please note this position requires the successful incumbent to relocate to
Williams Lake, BC, or the surrounding area. This is not a permanent remote
working position.

Provide customer-focused support with security as a primary concern at all
times.

Responding to help desk requests in a timely manner, recognize and escalate
complex issues.

Assist with implementing and enforcing IT Policy.

Install, configure, and support site hardware and systems; Windows client
workstations and laptops; printers, plotters and copiers.

Configure and support IP phones and mobile devices.

Installation, configuration and updating of client operating systems and
software.

Installation, troubleshooting and testing of ethernet and wireless networks.

Maintain onsite IT stock and arrange disposal and recycling of used/failed
hardware and supplies.

Configure and maintain remote access and underlying security provisions.

Maintain communications systems (VOIP systems, mobile phones).

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Installing software updates and patches.

Support Enterprise Asset Management Software.

Provide technical support and training to users.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years’ experience in the IT Field.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems or equivalent
certifications.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential; must have the
ability to communicate effectively with users of varying degrees of computer
knowledge.
- Must have the ability to work well under pressure and be able to work alone
with minimal supervision.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications including
Windows 10/11 and Office 365.
- Valid driver’s license.
