Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead complex ship repair projects from start to finish. Based in Victoria, BC, you’ll coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets and timelines, and maintain strong client relationships to ensure each project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of ship repair projects for clients such as BC Ferries, Canadian Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Navy, commercial fishing vessels, tug and barge operators, from inception to completion.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets tailored to each client's requirements.
Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Monitor project progress and address any issues or delays promptly, keeping clients informed throughout the process.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards specific to each client's industry.
Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure their satisfaction.
Prepare project reports and documentation as required by clients and regulatory authorities.
Requirements:
Canadian citizenship or legal authorization to work in Canada.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required or willingness to obtain it.
Experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, or marine engineering is preferred.
Education or background in marine engineering, naval architecture, or a related field is preferred.
Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage complex projects under pressure and meet deadlines.
Work Locations: Our Project Managers typically split their time between our two locations, collaborating closely with skilled trades, engineers, and client representatives on-site:
Point Hope Maritime Facility: Situated on the Inner Harbour in Victoria, Point Hope Maritime is the oldest shipyard on the west coast in Canada, boasting 151 years of expertise and experience in ship repair and maintenance.
Esquimalt Graving Dock: Operated by the Federal Government, this facility offers additional capacity and capabilities for our projects, ensuring flexibility and efficiency in our operations.
Security Clearance: Reliability and Controlled Goods
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary: $90,000 - $130,000 / year, based on experience
