About the Role As an Industrial Electrician at Zekelman Industries in Harrow, ON, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems that support operational safety and equipment reliability across our facility. Shift: Continental rotating shifts, including weekends and overtime Pay: Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications What You’ll Do • Leads and promotes safe work practices in compliance with OHSA, MOL, and company policies – ensures safety protocols such as LOTO and Arc Flash are followed at all times • Bends and installs conduit and wiring – supports safe and compliant electrical installations • Performs preventive and predictive maintenance – reduces equipment downtime and ensures optimal system performance • Prepares detailed reports and documentation – meets internal compliance and reporting standards • Programs and customizes PLC and VFD components – optimizes equipment functionality using Allen Bradley platforms • Assists with specifying and integrating control devices – enhances automation and control systems • Maintains and improves production control equipment – ensures plant-wide reliability of PLCs, drives, and other electrical systems • Manages and communicates system software changes – keeps stakeholders informed and documentation current • Works independently and collaborates with teams – provides support and coverage where needed Who You Are • 5+ years of experience in an industrial environment performing electrical work • High School Diploma or equivalent • Trade or technical school diploma; valid 309A (Construction Maintenance Electrician) or 442A (Industrial Electrician) License required • Strong PLC and HMI experience, including Allen Bradley, PanelView, and Wonderware • Proficient in AutoCAD for reading/modifying electrical drawings • Strong computer skills and problem-solving abilities • Working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting • Comfortable working at heights and in varying environmental conditions • Positive attitude with a commitment to teamwork and safe operations Physical Abilities • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently • Requires standing, climbing, bending, and manual dexterity for extended periods • Must be able to work in environments with temperature variation, exposure to mechanical/electrical systems, and occasional outdoor conditions • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance is essential What You’ll Get Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
