Note: This is a temporary part-time support position (up to 24 hours per week) for 3 days per week between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Duties: Under the daily guidance of the Manager, Career and Employment Services, the Part-time Receptionist is responsible for providing seamless service to visitors, clients, students, faculty, staff, administrators, academic schools, other areas of the College, local employers and the community at large. This position involves daily exchanges of information, and the incumbent is required to be flexible and stay on top of important information and applicable policies as it relates to Career and Employment Services. The Part-time Receptionist works under pressure during peak periods, balancing work priorities while maintaining focus on quality customer service. The incumbent is responsible for: Monitoring the office phone line, SMS texting service, email inbox, and front counter. Receiving formal referrals and responding as needed to arrange intakes or other outcomes as appropriate. Responding to callers and drop-in visitors, supporting activity and engagement in Employment resources including, scheduling appointments, public access computers, job search help and encouragement. QUALIFICATIONS Post-secondary Diploma or Certificate in a related field. A combination of 2 years of experience in a customer service and/or student services role. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements. Must have excellent oral and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability working within a busy office environment, including a strong adherence to client confidentiality and experience providing direct service to the public. Experience gained as a team player in a diverse client environment, working with multiple deadlines, reports, and targets.
