THE ROLE The Payroll Analyst role, reporting to the SVP Finance, will partner with HR, Finance, and the central Payroll team at Live Nation to ensure accurate payroll processing, identify gaps, and implement process improvements for all Live Nation Canada payrolls. WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO Serve as point of contact with the Central Payroll Team and third-party payroll provider for all payroll operations and solutions for Canada Manage integrations, system configurations, and updates with third-party payroll platforms to ensure smooth data flow and system alignment. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Central Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of all pay runs, including regular payroll, bonuses, commissions, milestone awards, and special reimbursements. Oversee hourly timekeeping system, including staff training, and ensuring accurate calculations of wages, overtime, statutory holiday pay, retroactive adjustments, and providing timely validated data for payroll processing. Ensure the accuracy of employee wages each pay period through reconciliation of approved submissions, deductions, and payroll outputs. Verify compliance with all federal and provincial payroll regulations and ensure all applicable deductions (taxes, benefits, RRSP, etc.) are calculated and remitted accurately. Reconcile payroll data across systems to maintain data integrity and accuracy; perform periodic, quarterly, and annual payroll audits and coordinate corrections with the Payroll Team. Submit and validate all Canadian benefit deductions (STD, LTD, Life, AD&D, etc.) and complete related month-end reporting, including vacation, WSIB, and benefit billings. Prepare journal entries and intercompany transactions entries related to payroll, benefits, and vacation Support reconciliation and settlement of intercompany stock-related balances. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify, implement, and streamline payroll improvement processes, policies, and procedures. Troubleshoot payroll issues with HR and people managers to ensure prompt resolution. Handle sensitive and complex payroll projects as required. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS) 5+ years minimum of experience supporting, and consulting on Canadian payroll. Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll practices; and relevant legislation (e.g., income tax; employment standards, etc.) is required. Membership with the National Payroll Institute (formerly the Canadian Payroll Association). Strong knowledge of absence laws and regulations in Canada. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel (e.g., with VLOOKUP and pivot table skills). Experience working with/in using ADP WorkforceNow and Dayforce Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation, or similar and/or designation in progress is a bonus YOU (BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS) Demonstrated ability to be a critical thinker and solutions-oriented when tackling problems. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Expert in handling sensitive and confidential information. Resourceful self-starter who can work independently while understanding the importance of teamwork. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task and shift direction easily while working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
