JOB SUMMARY
The Front Desk Representative is the lead customer service contact for all members, guests, or prospects. The Front Desk attendant is also responsible for selling all products and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greets and checks in all members and guests; creates the “First Impression.”
Sells all products and services, handling cash/debit/credit transactions daily
Take prospective members on a facility tour and maximize membership/personal training sales.
Liaison between members and Membership Office: Including prospects and current members
Schedules for both Personal Training and Massage [if applicable] Offices
Answers and directs all incoming phone calls
Fields all member complaints and concerns
Handle membership payments, cancellations and freezes
Diligently performs Opening and Closing Procedures (Cash-outs) for the club if assigned those shifts.
Responsible for keeping both Check-In Desk and Shake Station clean, neat, and orderly
Keep towels washed, dried and folded
Attends monthly departmental meetings
Maintains professionalism when not assisting members; avoids eating, sitting, reading, Internet surfing, or any other activities that are not work-related
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

An understanding of health club operations
Must be a team player, willing to cover or trade shifts when necessary
Must be able to work days, evenings, overnights and weekends as necessary
SUPERVISION:
The Manager will give training
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED.
Prior experience in customer service and sales is a requirement.
Experience in a health club or the hospitability industry is preferred
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications would be an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS
Front desk personnel work shifts that include late evenings, weekends and holidays
May be required to clear up weight area, which will include lifting heavy weights (up to 45pounds)
It involves standing for most of the working hours.
