This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).
In accordance with the Trust/Research Academic Staff Agreement, this position has a comprehensive benefits package and an annual salary range of $87,013 to $97,890. This position has an initial appointment of June 29, 2029.
Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.
Working within the context of the multi-year research project “Reinforcing Pathways for a Long-Term Increase of Accredited Indigenous K-12 Educators in Canada: A Culturally-Grounded Approach to Expanding Teacher Education Rooted in wîcihitowin and manâhcihitowin to uplift mêskotônamâtowin,” the ATEP Research Associate III independently conceives, designs, and evaluates complex components of the project, exercising judgment in applying Indigenous and Western methodologies. This role provides intellectual leadership that influences ATEP’s research portfolio and contributes to institutional recognition in Indigenous teacher education research. This position can co-supervise up to 10 graduate/undergraduate research assistants, manage project budgets exceeding $1 million annually, and exercise independent authority in designing culturally grounded research activities with over 15 Indigenous communities.
