HDR has an excellent opportunity for a Canada Water Business Group Utility Management Services (UMS) Business Class Lead. In this position, you will serve as a seller-doer to grow the UMS business class by leading pursuits, managing staff, and managing projects.
Primary Responsibilities
HDR’s Canada UMS Business Class Lead will provide leadership to develop, coordinate, monitor, and improve technical services for municipal water and wastewater utility support services, particularly utility planning, asset management, finance, regulatory support, and operations consulting. The Canada UMS Business Class Lead will lead the growth and further develop and manage UMS projects that may include condition assessment and rehabilitation of water, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure, utility management/asset management, business process assessments, strategic planning, capital planning & rate studies, operations optimization, regulatory support, system conveyance, master planning, technology selection/on-boarding, data management/ visualization, or pursuit of funding/financing
Identify project opportunities, lead client development and pursuits to win work of key projects in the UMS business sector and assist with others as directed.
Pursue UMS project opportunities across business groups, business classes and market sectors.
Develop and implement strategies, with the collaboration from local, regional and national support, for the marketing and delivery of UMS services.
Manage and execute project delivery for drinking water, wastewater and stormwater utility projects as a Seller/Doer.
Perform Project Management duties and be responsible for project financials and the project team.
Develop, mentor and manage staff in the UMS business class
Active engagement in selected professional conferences and industry associations with presentations, committee assignments and leadership positions.
Manage and develop multidiscipline teams
Work collaboratively with other Business Class Leads and Market Sector Leads within the water business group
Commit to quality, improvement and HDR values
Excellent team player with ability to function effectively in a variety of roles on integrated project teams
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
10 years of experience
Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
