Position Summary
Under the general direction of the General Manager, this position is responsible for the overall management of cage operations at the site level. Assists with the planning and directing of cage operations strategic plans. Develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports. Spearheads and implements all new cage operations initiatives. Actively participates in the recruitment and hiring process. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the cage operations at the site level; develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports
Directs and implements the cage operation strategic plans
Participates in cage corporate training; conducts site training
Reviews cage records for accuracy; prepares information for cage reporting; develops management schedules
Monitors and reports all discrepancies and suspicious cash activities
Responds to and resolves cage issues as escalated
Ensures that an updated copy of the Preventative Maintenance Schedule on count equipment is retained on site
Monitors inventory and supply levels; signs off on basic purchase requisitions; gets approval on non-basic purchase orders
Verifies and witnesses window transactions when required
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate business units
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management and team members
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Manages other initiatives as required
Education and Qualifications
Post-secondary education in business/finance or suitable combination of education and experience;
SIR, Smart Serve or IGB certification;
Minimum 5 years of experience in gaming management;
Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time;
Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical and guest relations skills;
Ability to exceed internal and external guest expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication;
Computer literacy in MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint;
Ability to obtain registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
