AI Engineer Co-op

Join our team and gain hands-on experience building intelligent systems and scalable machine learning infrastructure. You’ll learn the fundamentals of AI model development, deployment, and monitoring — while contributing to real-world projects that bring machine learning to life at League. This co-op is your chance to develop a strong foundation in a rapidly evolving field at the intersection of data, software, and intelligence.
What You’ll Work On
You’ll collaborate with our AI and data teams to:
Design, build, and optimize machine learning pipelines for training and inference
Work with large-scale datasets to improve data quality, feature engineering, and model performance
Experiment with LLMs (Large Language Models), NLP, and other applied AI techniques
Contribute to deploying AI services in production with monitoring, scalability, and reliability in mind
Support model evaluation, fine-tuning, and documentation for AI-powered systems
Security-related Responsibilities:
Compliance with Information Security Policies
Compliance with League’s secure coding practice
Responsibility and accountability for executing League's policies and procedures
Notification of HR, Legal, Compliance & Security of any incidents, breaches or policy violations
Technologies You’ll Learn and Use
Some of the technologies and tools we work with include:
Languages & Frameworks: Python, SQL, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn
Cloud & Infrastructure: GCP (Vertex AI, BigQuery), Airflow, Terraform
Monitoring & Visualization: Looker, Weights & Biases, MLflow
Your Experience So Far Might Include
Exposure to AI, data science, or machine learning projects
Hands-on software development experience (Python preferred)
Familiarity with cloud-based data or ML platforms
Previous engineering co-op or internship experience

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for base salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. The salary range is intentional to account for the performance and career progressions a Leaguer will experience in the role throughout their time at League. Where in the band you may land is determined by job-related skills/experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range specific to your skills and experience during the hiring process.

$25—$30 CAD

Work Location:
We have a mix of office-centric roles based in our vibrant Toronto office, and remote-eligible roles based anywhere in Canada or US. Each job posting will indicate where the role will be based. Regardless of the role’s posted location, all Toronto-area Leaguers (living within 65 km of our downtown HQ) collaborate in-office Monday through Thursday. Depending on your distance to the office, you’ll enjoy 10 or 20 Flexible Remote Days each quarter for focus and deep-work time.
