Your opportunity:
Under the direction of the Assistant Dean, Office of the Vice-Dean Programs and Registrar, the Manager, Programs Operation and Quality Assurance is responsible for providing leadership and expertise to the teams that support the faculty, staff, and students in teaching and learning across academic and athletic programs, as well as providing strategic input, management, coordination and senior administrative support to assist the Vice-Dean and Assistant Dean in developing and implementing the program goals and objectives of the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education. This includes developing strategic and tactical plans for new program design, development, implementation, and the refinement/renewal/evaluation of existing programs. The Manager's expertise and leadership contribute to program quality assurance reviews/self-studies/accreditation, quality improvement processes and new program initiatives across academic and athletic programs. The Manager also provides workflow coordination to ensure effective collaboration and exchange of information with the Associate Deans and Directors to improve and support evidenced-based decision-making regarding curricula and co-curricular programs and other initiatives; and establishes and maintains critical connections between the Office of Vice-Dean and partnering offices in the Faculty and across the institution. As the Manager, Programs Operation and Quality Assurance, you will help support the quality delivery of curricular and co-curricular programs in kinesiology and physical education through the implementation of a program strategy that includes:
• Advancing program quality and innovation through governance and administrative processes, program quality assurance reviews/self-studies/accreditation, program evaluation and new program initiatives for academic and athletic programs.
• Advancing meaningful measurement and program evaluation and supporting data-informed teaching and program improvements.
•Building capacity for quality and innovation in teaching through training of faculty and staff by researching and recommending options for training and professional development
• Supporting faculty and staff by overseeing and implementing activities that support educational initiatives, such as innovative teaching pedagogies and technologies, to improve outcomes and student experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing projects or policies of importance that require a rigorous approach and attention to very fine detail
- Developing or modifying project schedules to expedite and/or compress the critical path to meet timelines
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Producing complex statistical information
- Implementing plans and process improvements for project activities
- Analyzing datasets
- Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
- Gathering information in preparation for budget planning
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience with strategy development, program planning, and program evaluation including developing learning outcomes, curriculum maps and the use of surveys, focus groups, qualitative interviews, and quantitative data collection and analysis
- Minimum of five years' experience in program quality improvement, including theory, methods and practical application
- Minimum of five years' demonstrated project management experience, leading multiple, concurrent projects, including project development, implementation, and evaluation
- Minimum of five years' experience interpreting data findings and communicating these to a range of collaborators including through reports, papers, oral presentations, and infographics
- Minimum of five years' experience developing learning outcomes and facilitating educational workshops and seminars
- Minimum of five years' extensive experience with consultation and engagement, including with students, instructors, and members of the public
- Minimum of five years' experience supporting and advising senior-level committees
- Minimum of three years' experience directing and supervising staff
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite and RedCap
- Superb communication and presentation skills – oral and written — that can be tailored to a range of audiences
- Superior leadership and organizational skills in planning, project management and task coordination
- Highly organized and detail-focused, able to synthesize information in a clear and concise way
- Ability to use tact and discretion, maintain confidentiality and sound judgment
- Strong problem-solving orientation, flexibility, and initiative; able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in fast-paced, dynamic environments, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
- Ability to establish credibility and work with senior University officers and Senior academic leaders in a manner that facilitates discussion and agreement of principles
- Demonstrated ability to empower colleagues and oversee the work of a multifaceted team, while championing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) initiatives and principles
