This role will fully utilize your experience and expertise in supporting the day-to-day activities of the Ultrasound services, guiding and maintaining technical and quality standards, while promoting delivery of a safe and positive patient and staff experience within the department. The US Technical Specialist will build a collegial team of Ultrasound Sonographers, support daily operational activities (overseeing staff/equipment/resource schedules), prepare and implement protocols and process improvements, onboard and train new staff and students, facilitate the maintenance of sonographer team sub-speciality competencies, research and implement best practices, and monitor and action quality control and equipment stability within the Ultrasound department. Working independently in our participative, self-managed professional environment, you will apply your excellent patient care skills to perform various diagnostic ultrasound examinations/procedures and be an advocate for exemplary customer care and patient experience. The technical specialist will be given discretionary time to work on their modality specific administrative duties. Duties subject to change to support departmental needs. What you bring to the role: Current CMRITO registration as DMS Sonography Canada registration is preferred Minimum 3-5 years experience as an Ultrasound Sonographer, preferably in a hospital environment Experience in various sub-specialties of ultrasound scanning is required Demonstrates commitment to professional development Demonstrates a positive and professional outlook while effectively managing workload in a fast-paced setting Excellent interpersonal communication and team building skills, collaboration and promotion of best practice Proven abilities in complex analysis, critical thinking, problem-solving and exercising professional judgement when resolving issues Strong organizational skills and self-management of time in a changing environment Strong computer skills are needed, specifically navigating HIS and PACS digital environments Experience in managing resource schedules Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required Work Schedule: Days, evening, weekends, and statutory holidays Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.
