Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician inspects, maintains, repairs and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plant and/or pump stations.
Primary Duties:
Repair, maintain, install, replace, troubleshoot and diagnose various machinery , mechanical and electrical equipment such as pumps, conveyors, belts, and fans, utilising hand tools and testing instruments;
Able to troubleshoot VFD’s alarms.
Inspect completed repairs and recommend an appropriate solution.
Perform all work with strict adherence to all applicable safety legislation and procedures;
Estimates time and material costs on electrical and mechanical projects;
Requisition supplies and materials as required and approved by management;
Work from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals or verbal instruction and install equipment to diagram specifications;
Complete work orders as required and ensure appropriate follow-up communication;
Clean and lubricate equipment, parts and machinery, participate in mechanical PMs and assist in mechanical works when needed.
Maintain equipment in proper operating condition;
Assist co-workers with any questions or issues regarding task completion.
Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in work areas and throughout the facility.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Valid 442A or 309A Electrician Licence, a Valid 447A or 433A Millwright Licence will be an added value.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in Industrial Maintenance, preferably within the Waste,Heavy , Mining manufacturing environment.
Thorough knowledge of all applicable safety legislation.
Working experience with PLCs, SCADA and proficient in reading P&ID, electrical and mechanical drawings. Process Instrumentation knowledge is considered an asset.
Proficient at troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and servicing all plant equipment in a timely manner.
Strong problem-solving, planning and organisational skills.
Reading Manuals of different VFD manufacturers to be able to troubleshoot different issues.
Excellent communication skills. Must be fluent in English (read, write and speak).
Experience with a variety of machinery, vehicles, material handling equipment, hand and power tools preferred.
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
Must be deadline oriented, reliable and dependable on start and finish times as it impacts the operations.
Must work well with others.
Must be comfortable rotating throughout the facility as required.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, and attention to detail.
Work Site Environment: Can get dusty, recycling odour.
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportatiom to Base site address (120 Disco road) and can use company vehicle when scheduled at sister site 35 Vanley Crescent, North York, ON M3J2B7
Shifts: Bi-weekly rotating schedule from Monday - Friday; 6:00 AM– 2:30 PM and 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM + Overtime; Flexibility to be scheduled on evenings or weekend in case of operational needs.
