Halyard is a highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering company with services including site studies, design, procurement, cost control, program management, implementation, and commissioning predominately in the mining and minerals processing sector.
The Employee plays an important support role for both the engineering and business support side of Halyard. This position will interact with all technical levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing Structural and Civil drawings using software.
Perform modeling of structures using software and loading and analysis of structures.
Assist in
reviewing structural and civil drawings
Assist in developing structural and civil design criteria.
Assist in developing structural and civil specifications.
Assist in reviewing shop drawings
Support the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and project documentation such as calculations, material take off and estimates.
Support with bids technical evaluations and vendor documentation reviews.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
Participate in site visits, field assessments, and construction and commissioning activities as required.
Support with package engineering as required.
Gain an understanding of the details and aspects of Halyard’s business related to mining and minerals processing.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
0-3 years of experience in civil and structural engineering; experience in mineral processing is a plus.
EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
Energetic and pro-active attitude.
Ability to travel and partake in construction and commissioning activities.
Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills required.
Experience in the mining industry is preferred.
Strong software knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Proficiency in structural and civil engineering software (e.g. Risa, Civil 3D, Revit, advance still and Navis) is a plus.
Accustomed to a fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information.
Team player, collaborative and resourceful, able to build and manage strong relationships.
