What You'll Do
We are looking for a Lead Producer to join us on the Fortnite Core Tech team, driving one of our major R&D tech programs, which involves large cross-team and cross-functional groups. These involve low-level game and engine systems, including internal developer workflows and processes. Potential options include internal DevOps and stability, tech initiatives related to the editor, and reducing time to play. In this position, you will partner with the broader Fortnite organization and specific team leadership across the company to manage goals, executions, and outcomes of this program. We’re looking for individuals who excel in multitasking, thrive in chaos, possess great communication skills, and are comfortable managing roadmaps and schedules of a group of opaque initiatives. Ideal candidates have experience in game or engine development or hardware frameworks, and have directly worked with engineers and the systems they develop.
In this role, you will
Partner with the Programming Directors, Product Owners, and exec stakeholders to define strategies and initiatives for the program
Develop a roadmap feedback loop which can speak to health, risk, progress, and roll that up to the broader org.
Help scale operations to support the broader Metaverse vision
You may directly manage producers, or you may be operating individually, but influencing other teams in what they do and how they do it
Operates 50% at a high level and 50% in the details, managing technical work
What we're looking for
Deep experience working with engineers and on technical projects
Able to drive high-level goals/vision and also dig into technical details
Experience managing outcomes for the program and know enough to confirm the validity of the underlying plan
Understands how complex systems work, what they do, and why. Wants to know how everything works
Strong skills in organizing unstructured work and managing multiple competing needs
Experienced with DevOps, game engines, platforms, and tools is highly desired
Deep experience managing large team roadmaps, rallying individual teams around common goals
Experience in managing/growing team orgs to scale for demand
Experienced in working with strong personalities and still achieving the desired results
