Position Summary The Waste Coordinator supports the safe and compliant handling of all waste streams by bridging sales opportunities with day-to-day operational execution. This role is responsible for profiling waste, coordinating logistics, communicating with customers and internal teams, and ensuring all regulatory documentation and approvals are completed accurately. Acting as the central link between Sales, Operations, and Customers, the Coordinator ensures all waste is properly characterized, approved, scheduled, and recorded in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time hourly position, Monday to Friday. Key Accountabilities Waste Profiling & Regulatory Compliance Characterize and classify waste streams in accordance with provincial and federal regulations. Review SDSs, analytical reports, CSRs, and other regulatory documents to ensure accurate waste profiling. Coordinate with disposal/treatment facilities to obtain waste approvals and ensure acceptance criteria are met. Operations & Logistics Coordination Schedule and dispatch transportation based on customer needs and facility capacity. Collaborate with Operations to align waste treatment methods, incoming volumes, and planning requirements. Support day-to-day field operations with documentation, instructions, and service coordination. Customer Support & Communication Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding pickups, deliveries, waste requirements, and service updates. Provide guidance on documentation, regulatory obligations, and waste acceptance processes. Resolve service issues or delays in a timely and professional manner. Documentation & Reporting Ensure accurate and timely data entry in internal systems, including customer setup and waste profiles. Generate operational, compliance, and management reports as requested. Requirements High school diploma required; post-secondary education in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemistry, or related field is an asset. 1–3 years of experience in waste management, industrial services, logistics coordination, or a related field preferred. Knowledge of BC Hazardous Waste Regulation and Contaminated Sites Regulation is an asset. Ability to interpret laboratory data and apply it to waste characterization and regulatory requirements. Proficient in Google Workspace and able to learn internal waste tracking or CRM systems. Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail in documentation. Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills; project management abilities are an asset. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
