Jackman Law is housed in the elegant, state-of-the-art Jackman Law Building, alongside two historic buildings, Flavelle House and Falconer Hall, on the St. George Campus in downtown Toronto.Your opportunity:A member of the Jackman Law’s Office of Advancement you can expect to be part of a collaborative, dynamic, high-performance team within a professional school that ranks amongst the best in the world, jointly as a community setting out to deliver lawyers and leaders for a changing world.Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Advancement, the Manager, Donor Engagement will guide and support a vision to engage donors in the work at Jackman Law with a view to compelling their participation and commitment and ultimately work in partnership to experience the impact of their philanthropic support.Your responsibilities will include:
Managing donor relations
Developing and implementing plans to support donor management and stewardship strategies and/or activities
Providing feedback on the planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns
Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
Developing project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reporting
Interpreting gift agreement terms to ensure they comply with University policies and guidelines and producing complex donor reports
Providing orientation to volunteers on appropriate donor solicitation strategies
Assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
Minimum five (5) years' experience working in stewardship and donor relations
Experience in designing comprehensive donor relations programs
Experience in creating and implementing donor recognition strategies for various levels of giving
Experience in planning and implementing donor-focused events
Experience planning and implementing large projects in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, preferably in an advancement environment
Experience working and communicating effectively with senior leaders and volunteers
Experience analyzing data to inform strategic planning and recommendations
Knowledge of donor recognition and stewardship programs and best practices
Knowledge of project management techniques, methodologies and tools
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
Knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools, including Excel PivotTables
Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Advanced skills in using databases in the analysis and management of information, preferably using ARBOR
Impeccable business writing and communication skills
Evidence of leadership and initiative, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail and creativity
Assets (Nonessential):
Experience working with business intelligence software, such as Tableau or Power BI
Experience working with Microsoft Project
Experience in the post-secondary environment
