OVERVIEW
We’re seeking a technical leader who combines strategic thinking with a
willingness to dive into the work when needed. This fully remote role leads
SalesCloser.ai’s engineering, data, IT, and platform operations, while also
staying close to the codebase, architecture, and day-to- day development
rhythms.
The CTO will help shape the technical direction of a rapidly growing marketing
technology product and partner closely with Product, Sales, and Customer Success
to ensure our technology decisions directly support customer value and business
priorities. This role requires someone who can balance long-term technical
vision with near-term execution, reliability, and iteration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner with company leadership to define and communicate SalesCloser.ai
[http://SalesCloser.ai]’s technical vision and ensure alignment with business
goals.
• Oversee global Engineering, DevOps, Data/Analytics, QA, Security, and IT
functions with an emphasis on collaboration, accountability, and healthy team
processes.
• Lead architectural decisions and guide the evolution of scalable, secure, and
cost-efficient systems.
• Co-own the technology roadmap with Product, ensuring clear prioritization
across innovation, customer needs, and operational constraints.
• Champion strong engineering practices including CI/CD, testing automation,
observability, documentation, and maintainable code standards.
• Ensure effective execution of development cycles, with predictable delivery
and measurable value.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure, system reliability, and operational excellence,
maintaining strong SLAs and minimal downtime.
• Build and refine development processes that enable fast iteration and
continuous improvement.
• Manage core technical budgets, vendor tools, cloud costs, and procurement.
• Strengthen our data capabilities across analytics engineering, reporting, and
machine learning opportunities.
• Implement and maintain strong security, privacy, and compliance practices
across platforms and internal systems.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and
Operations to ensure technology supports a frictionless customer experience.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent while fostering a culture of
learning, innovation, and ownership.
• Assess emerging technologies and lead initiatives that help SalesCloser.ai
[http://SalesCloser.ai] stay competitive.
• Contribute directly to the codebase and architectural work as
needed—especially during critical projects, high-impact initiatives, or to
unblock teams.
• Perform other duties as required to support technology excellence and business
success.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 7–10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing
distributed teams.
• Background in SaaS, MarTech, AdTech, or fast-paced, high-growth software
environments.
• Deep experience in modern software development, cloud infrastructure (AWS,
GCP, or Azure), and distributed, high-availability architectures.
• Strong understanding of product development practices, agile methodologies,
and technical project execution.
• Hands-on experience implementing engineering best practices: CI/CD, DevOps,
IaC, observability, and test automation.
• Track record of aligning technical initiatives with product and business
priorities.
• Strong leadership and people-development skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate
technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience with technical budgeting, tooling, vendor evaluation, and resource
planning.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality, customer-centric design, and innovation.
• Highly organized, self-directed, and able to thrive in an evolving
environment.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of a second language is a
plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This is a 100% remote position, and the individual could be based anywhere in
Canada
• The successful candidate is expected to work in the Pacific Time Zone.
• Due to the nature of this role, we may verify backgrounds, including

• Once hired, the successful candidate must provide a valid government-issued
photo ID, proof of SIN and proof of residential address as part of their
onboarding process.
