The purpose of the Restaurant Technology Specialist, Restaurant Systems is to accurately support the restaurant systems team through technical aspects of their day-to-day activities, including Point of Sale, kitchen display systems (KDS), digital menu boards, E-commerce Systems and technical log review. The Restaurant Systems team maintains and launches all local and national Brand programs through their Point of Sale (POS), back office systems (inventory), e-commerce, and aggregator platforms as per the Brand specifications and requirements, with the technical support role supporting each aspect of those launches to ensure smooth execution. The Restaurant Systems team also acts as a first point of escalation for the service desk, through troubleshooting issues accurately and efficiently.
What you will do in this role:
Support technical aspects of day-to-day activities (POS, kitchen display systems, digital menu boards, troubleshooting
Work as the first-level escalation point for the service desk on back-of-house and front-of-house POS issues involving menu items, prices, and print location
Work as the first-level escalation point for the service desk on inventory issues
Maintain and improve end-user interaction for all Systems
Implement and support the exploration of automation possibilities
Support restaurant support ticket management
Implement changes and updates submitted by the Brand teams through a Request for Change (RFC)
Ensure that requests are feasible and provides alternative solutions for initiatives that may not be feasible with the current systems
Assist the Brands with the implementation of marketing initiatives (coupons and discounts)
Perform changes in POS, inventory, e-commerce and 3rd party platforms
Ensure that all facets of inventory are properly configured and updated in the system to provide accurate tracking of data
Conduct comprehensive POS testing with Brand representatives
Conduct detailed inventory testing with Brand representatives, which includes confirming recipe details, inventory and supplier items
Conduct thorough e-commerce testing with Brand representatives, which includes validating price, images, and menu item descriptions
Review and manage upcoming requests for changes and updates
Discuss ideas and solutions for future projects and initiatives
Work in conjunction with the Project Management team on Recipe and Brand-specific projects, with the intention of improving the system and support techniques relating to the restaurant
What we are looking for from you:
Post-secondary education is considered an asset
3-5 years of experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology, specifically Oracle Simphony and its various components (Enterprise Management Console, kitchen display systems)
Working knowledge of Windows environments
Data accuracy and verification
Restaurant Operations Experience is a key asset
Good working knowledge of Google Workspace
Prior experience with inventory and labour management systems
An appreciation of wider business demands
Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex systems
Strong interpersonal skills, including strong verbal, written communication skills, customer service skills and excellent listening skills
