One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking a 1 FTE Contract Medical Secretary, who as a valuable member of the Community Health Centre team will provide reception and medical secretary support to the Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic, an interdisciplinary addiction clinic serving vulnerable populations. The Medical Secretary is responsible for:

Qualifications:
Secondary school diploma, Medical Secretary certificate or equivalent relevant work experience;
Three to five year’s office experience preferably in a health setting;
Demonstrated ability to be flexible, organized, a self-starter, and possess excellent problem solving skills;
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, perform well under stress, and deal with multiple demands and unpredictable delays.
Demonstrates a professional and friendly manner and has experience dealing with the public in a way that is mature, sensitive and helpful both over the telephone and in person.
Experience in a community-based primary health care setting, addictions, homelessness, and/or mental health is an asset.
Strong understanding and alignment with the concepts of trauma-informed care and culturally safer care.
Drivers license and access to a vehicle is required
