Director of Operations As the Director of Operations, you will lead the operational system that drives performance across our Mississauga facility. This role is accountable for operational planning, production control, performance visibility, cross-functional alignment, and the daily/weekly management routines that ensure predictable output in a high-mix, engineered-to-order environment. You will own the end-to-end operational framework; capacity, schedule health, constraints, readiness, operating cadence, and performance improvement. Your Challenge: Operational Planning & Control Lead the integrated operational plan that aligns Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing. Own capacity modeling, resource planning, and performance forecasting. Translate business demand into clear weekly and monthly plans with measurable commitments. Daily Operating System (DOS) & Performance Visibility Strengthen and oversee INDAL’s DOS: huddle boards, tiered escalation, Gemba, KPIs, and issue resolution. Ensure operational metrics are visible, credible, and used to drive decision-making. Standardize weekly business rhythms, including schedule reviews, constraint management, and readiness checks. Cross-Functional Integration Serve as the operational integrator across PMO, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing. Drive early identification of risks; material shortages, engineering releases, capacity constraints, quality holds. Ensure cross-functional issues are surfaced, assigned, and closed. Execution Enablement (Not Day-to-Day Machine Oversight) Partner with the Senior Manufacturing Manager to ensure the shop has the tools, information, resources, and clarity needed for effective execution. Ensure engineering data, materials, routings, traveler readiness, and priorities align to the operational plan. Drive alignment on program priorities, customer commitments, and at-risk deliverables. Operational Performance & POC Readiness Own the operational inputs that drive revenue recognition accuracy: hours earned, schedule execution, and milestone readiness. Maintain tight alignment with Finance on absorption, labor forecast accuracy, and inventory/WIP health. Strengthen root-cause discipline around OTD, quality escapes, and performance variance. Leadership & Culture Build a culture of accountability, transparency, and problem-solving across all operational support functions. Coach, develop, and elevate planning, scheduling, and performance teams (Master Scheduler, planners, operational analysts, etc.). Support leadership development across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering operations. Continuous Improvement & Strategic Readiness Lead strategic improvement initiatives that enhance throughput, reduce variability, and stabilize performance. Support plant modernization and layout optimization initiatives. Drive improvements to ERP utilization and data accuracy to strengthen planning and execution. What You Bring: 10+ years in operations, production control, supply chain, or program-driven environments; aerospace/defense or precision manufacturing preferred. BSc in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical) and/or MBA in Operations or equivalent Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and operational systems; not just manufacturing departments. Strong understanding of capacity planning, production control, and operational readiness. Working knowledge of POC revenue recognition, earned labor hours, and schedule-driven performance. Experience developing daily management systems, tiered meetings, KPIs, and issue/escalation structures. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills with the ability to drive clarity in a complex environment.
