As the Waste Water Treatment Specialist, you will be responsible for the maintenance and functional management of the wastewater treatment system including site wide support of hazardous waste management. Shift: Afternoon 5 days (2:00 pm-10: 00 pm) Work is On-Site at our Facility in Oakville , ON - Canada What You Will Do Operating, trouble shooting, and performing preventative & scheduled maintenance for the wastewater treatment system, scrubber filters, filter press, probes, filters, pumps, plating pits, process tanks, sludge removal/disposal, solution replenishment, chemical handling, storage & disposal Perform related departmental housekeeping & 5S activities Coordinate hazardous & non hazardous waste from all areas of the facility, including oils, coolants, sealants, oily rags, scrap metals, contractor waste etc. Make chemical additions as required from lab analysis Lead tank pump outs and refills based off scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications You Must Have College degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Waste Water OR 2- 3 years previous experience in waste water treatment. Experience in Forklift drive and Crane. Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CGD Qualifications We Prefer Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training Forklift and Crane certified Demonstrated knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment operations, chemical treatment, handling, storage & disposal, experienced with pumps, probes & filters, confined space requirements Laboratory experience related to use of IC, ICT instrumentation for analysis Experience in management of waste, onsite, storage, labeling and preparation for disposal Demonstrated knowledge of emergency response and spill clean-up procedures. Action oriented, a team player & be able to work with the minimum of supervision.
