Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a Hybrid model. Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Director, Data Science and Development Management. Your Moneris Career - What you'll do The Data Governance Manager will lead the development and execution of our data governance framework. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish standards, policies, and best practices that enable reliable and consistent data for decision-making. Key Responsibilities Data and AI Governance Strategy: Develop and implement a data governance framework aligned with organizational objectives. Policy & Standards: Define and enforce data policies, standards, and stewardship practices. Data Quality: Establish metrics and processes for monitoring and improving data quality. Metadata & MDM: Oversee metadata management and support master data initiatives. Provide strategic guidance with respect to MDM best practices. Contributing to the analysis of master data requirements and performing complex data mapping activities Collaboration: Partner with IT, Legal, Infosec and business units to promote data governance best practices. Training: Drive data literacy programs and provide guidance to data stewards. Reporting: Deliver regular updates on governance KPIs and compliance status to leadership. Tooling: Lead the architecture and design of Moneris Data Governance tooling and supporting processes to ensure alignment with current and future data management goals and strategy. Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. 7+ years of experience in data governance or data management roles. Hands-on experience with Data Governance and metadata repositories and cataloging tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica EDC, Snowflake Horizon). Knowledge of AI Governance to drive responsible, ethical, and compliant use of AI systems and data. Strong understanding of data architecture, data quality, and compliance frameworks. Ability to query, validate, and profile data. Familiarity with Data Engineering (Snowflake, DBT) and ETL tools (Informatica, Talend).Knowledge of data pipelines and ingestion processes. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Good to have: Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Implementing data validation rules and monitoring dashboards.
