Job Summary The Product Software team at Equinix builds next-generation software products and architecture for our Equinix software platform and services offerings. We are looking for engineers responsible for developing consistent APIs with microservices, interacting with multiple consumers and abstracting complex Enterprise Application workflows. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop platform services, and to collaborate with partner teams to understand their requirements and consumption patterns. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential. You will work closely with product engineering, architects and product managers. Responsibilities Technical Leadership Participate in the technical strategy for modular, event-driven, and scalable microservices that power enterprise-grade workflows Develop reusable frameworks and self-service platforms for onboarding, configuration, and lifecycle management Apply AI tools to accelerate software design, development, and operations - e.g., AI-assisted architecture reviews, test generation, and defect prediction Influence cross-functional architecture decisions for customer, billing, pricing, and commerce systems integrated across the Quote-to-Cash flow Champion design principles that balance innovation, maintainability, observability, and operational excellence Engineering Excellence Lead by example—building reliable, secure, and observable systems with strong performance SLAs Establish best practices for API-first development, automated testing, DevSecOps, and continuous delivery Partner with product managers to translate business intent into technical outcomes that scale globally Participate in “AI Ops” automation across environments for faster root cause analysis and proactive reliability improvements Mentorship and Influence Serve as a mentor and technical coach, raising the level of engineering maturity across teams Cultivate an engineering culture grounded in curiosity, experimentation, and craftsmanship Advocate for pragmatic innovation—balancing long-term platform health with short-term delivery needs Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent 8+ years of engineering experience with strong depth in distributed systems, API platforms, and cloud-native development (Java, Node.js, or equivalent) Proven experience in designing and operating microservice architecture at scale (preferably multi-tenant SaaS/PaaS) Strong knowledge of event streaming (Kafka, Pub/Sub), container orchestration, automated CI/CD and observability frameworks (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, etc.) Hands-on experience applying AI in software engineering—e.g., using generative AI for design, code, or operational insights Deep understanding of data modeling, domain-driven design, and API lifecycle management Excellent communication skills; able to influence at multiple levels of the organization Experience in enterprise application integration (ERP, CRM, CPQ, or billing systems) and Quote-to-Cash automation will be a plus A successful candidate will Operate as a “system thinker” – simplifying complexity across architecture, teams, and tools Be a talent multiplier who gets the team around them to excel Be persistent, creative and driven to get results relentlessly Exhibit a strong backbone to challenge the status quo, when needed Stay curious, experiment with emerging technologies, and continuously raise the engineering bar Show pride of ownership and strive for excellence in everything undertaken The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: Canada - Toronto 1 Office : 131,000 - 181,000 CAD / Annual Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
