Job Description What is the opportunity? We are seeking a results-driven Senior Manager, IST Operations Mainframe to lead a team responsible for maintaining and supporting critical Integration & System Testing (IST), Quality Assurance (QA), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the mainframe environments. This role ensures these environments closely mirror Production systems, enabling seamless testing, validation, and deployment of applications. The successful candidate will oversee procedural compliance, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration to uphold environment integrity and operational excellence. What will you do? Team Leadership: Oversee the team responsible for test cycle support, batch schedule management, and testing environment setup. Performance Management: Set goals, monitor progress, and provide feedback to ensure timely execution of Change Records and batch schedules. Resource Allocation: Assign tasks and prioritize workloads to meet project deadlines and maintain IST environment availability. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance automation processes, ZEKE batch scheduling flows, and problem-resolution workflows. Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between developers, Service Providers, clients, and support staff to ensure alignment on technical requirements and goals. Issue Escalation: Address and resolve critical issues in batch schedules, test cycles, or environment setups that require managerial intervention. Skill Development: Mentor and train team members to adapt to evolving zOS platform technologies and maintain technical proficiency. Risk Management: Proactively identify risks in testing environments or batch schedules and implement mitigation strategies. Reporting: Provide updates to senior leadership on team performance, test cycle outcomes, and environment availability metrics. What do you need to succeed? Must have: Solid knowledge of JCL, TSO, ISPF, Zeke, Beta91, HSDS, WAS, JES2 AOC, OMVS, Willing to work a 1pm to 9pm shift on a rotational basis to run, monitor and resolve issues in the daily batch schedule according to pre-determined requirements. Nice to have: Solid knowledge of RBC systems, network and applications. Knowledge of IMS, CICS & DB2. What’s in it for you?
