We are seeking a conscientious, results-focused shop helper to support our technical and warehouse teams by ensuring a clean and safe working environment in our Southeast Calgary facility. Reporting to the shop foreman, this position is responsible for shop cleanliness, basic maintenance of shop equipment, safety inspections and recycling / composting. Your day-to-day will include: Clean and maintain shop equipment Manage locations of fleet vehicles by moving them as required by warehouse supervisor and shop foreman Empty garbage and recycling bins in various areas including lunchrooms, shop, warehouse, offices, and front counter Sweep and wash floors in the shop and warehouse Assist in loading and unloading customer products in coordination with our service teams Clean lunchroom areas Perform forklift safety checks and file reports with supervisors Perform crane inspections and file reports with supervisors Weekly, Monthly and As-Needed Duties: Deliver recyclable pallet wood to recycling partner Manage uniform readiness for Inside Service Technicians Assist Technicians and the Warehouse team as needed Assist inventory supervisors as needed What you will bring: A commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and respectful communication with customers and coworkers, even under challenging conditions. Adherence to James Electric’s policies and procedures, including: Timely arrival for shifts. Clean and well-maintained personal grooming and attire suitable for a shop environment. Wearing PPE at all times while performing duties as directed by James’ safety officer. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Commitment to following James Electric’s Safety and ISO 9001 programs. A class five or higher driver’s license and clean driving record.
