We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Geologist to join our team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Manager, Reservoir Lloydminster Conventional, the successful candidate will provide geological analysis, subsurface interpretations, recommendations, and technical work for all growth opportunities within the Lloydminster Conventional Business Unit. The Successful Candidate Will: Perform reservoir characterization, focusing on depositional environments and rock composition to support risk analysis and optimize well design Develop comprehensive mapping suites for evaluated projects, including structural maps, net reservoir, net pay, and hydrocarbon pore volume, integrating seismic interpretation where applicable, to generate and verify drill locations and development opportunities Integrate all available subsurface data to assess reservoir properties such as clay content, cohesiveness, and shear strength Detailed log analysis for reservoir mapping and volumetrics Collaborate with the Growth Development Engineer to design development plans that maximize value from identified growth opportunities Collaborate with the Business Development team on acquisition opportunities as required Evaluate internal opportunities and industry land sale postings to identify potential growth projects. Participate in developing and derisking plays; initial delineation to full asset development planning. Provide oversight for drilling operations when necessary to ensure technical integrity and alignment with development objectives Review, analysis and update offsetting competitor activity Qualifications Include: 10+ years of experience working with conventional heavy oil properties Proven ability in regional mapping, prospect generation, and geological risk assessment Strong understanding of clastic sedimentology Strong understanding of Mannville formation deposition and basin controls within the WCSB Heavy Oil Belt Proficiency in Geoscout, Geographix, and StarSteer software Demonstrated capability to integrate cross-disciplinary data, including geophysics and production, into geological interpretations Highly collaborative, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills Education and Experience: B.Sc. in Geology APEGA member in good standing. 10-15 years of experience.
