The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Senior Treasury Analyst, to join our Finance & Treasury Team.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Treasury, the Senior Treasury Analyst will manage day to day treasury operations for Aviso and its subsidiaries, manage banking and counterparty relationships to negotiate and solicit optimal treasury products and interest rates, prepare annual treasury budget and periodic forecasts to support business decisions, and ensure investment policy compliance. This position is responsible for delivering accurate Treasury reports to internal and external stakeholders, successful implementation of Treasury and capital models and treasury optimization objectives.

What your day looks like:
Manage day to day cash management to ensure sufficient funding is available to support daily operations, clients’ margin loan borrowings, regulatory free client cash segregation requirements, shareholders and Credit Unions’ dividend payment, and annual employees’ bonus payment. Ensure all SLAs are met
Responsible for timely delivery of accurate Treasury reports to external and internal stakeholders including but not limited to Board of Directors, executive and senior management, and department leaders
Challenge the status quo, streamline the day to day cash management processes to identify funding requirements and determine the best available funding options
Acquire a solid understanding of Aviso’s products and services, and trading activities across all business lines to identify levers and drivers of cash balances and treasury income
Develop and manage treasury portfolio model for fixed income securities, foreign currency derivatives and interest rate swaps to ensure market risk exposure stays within the investment policy limit and regulatory constraints
Using modeling tools available on the Bloomberg terminal, implement and actively manage interest rate risk hedging and foreign currency hedging strategies to minimize Aviso’s exposure to market risks
Manage relationships with Aviso’s capital market team, banks, Credit Unions and foreign currency counterparties to actively solicit higher interest yield instruments and foreign exchange instruments to optimize Aviso’s treasury income.
Monitor daily and monthly MTM P&L on the treasury portfolio
Monitor and report the regulatory capital measurement impact arising from Aviso’s investment and funding activities to VP Finance & Treasury
Provide morning market update on interest rate movements – CDOR, SWAP, CORRA, OIS rates to Chief Financial Officer and VP Finance & Treasury
Develop and prepare daily and monthly treasury report to management with market data benchmark, cash balances and AUA data, and compare actual against budgeted treasury income. Perform variance analysis and provide commentary
Prepare treasury income budgeting and forecasting to support business decisions for all business lines. Perform back-testing to refine the budgeting and forecasting methodologies
Interact with counterparties and Internal trade desk to execute trade orders and obtain market data.
Be an advocate of continuous improvements
Your experience and skills:
Strong business acumen, ability to influence and make sound recommendations as well as build and maintain solid relationships with stakeholders are key success factors in this role
Experience in wealth management and asset management industry is an asset
Strong interest and curiosity in capital markets, investment vehicles and functions of securities broker-dealers.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Treasury Analyst functions in medium to large enterprises
Hands on experience in accounting for financial instruments under IFRS 9 and Hedge Accounting
Perseverance to gather information from various stakeholders and take the project from start to finish in a logical manner
Superior computer skills; ACCPAC, Excel, Bloomberg Terminal, and report writers
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Customer service oriented to respond quickly and effectively to non-routine enquiries
Strong analytical skills and judgment
Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
Ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $93,000 - $113,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
