We are seeking a talented individual to join our Institutional Investment Sales team at Mercer. This role will be based in Toronto or Montreal. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As the Director - Institutional Investment Sales, you will leverage Mercer’s position as the #1 investment consulting firm to back your sales acumen. Working alongside a world-class team of consultants, you will develop sales strategies to help employers address challenges related to retirement and wealth accumulation vehicles they sponsor. You will be knowledgeable regarding the full spectrum of Mercer Canada’s Wealth business—from investments to actuarial to risk management solutions.
We will count on you to:
Articulate your sales funnel, including how you identify, research, profile, and prospect accounts
Discuss your cold calling techniques, meeting conversions, and closing ratios with examples of engaging key decision makers
Illustrate your process of managing prospects through long sales cycles and building client relationships through industry knowledge
Establish trusted advisor status before the sale and build internal relationships to marshal the right people and resources to close deals
Share thought leadership on major industry challenges and opportunities and how to address these issues
Discuss risk mitigation strategies for Defined Contribution plans, including litigation, fees, and other risk analyses
Highlight experience mitigating risk in Defined Benefit plans through asset allocation, liability exposures, and actuarial analysis
What you need to have:
Strong sales acumen with experience in identifying and managing client relationships in institutional investment sales
Knowledge of investment market strategies and risk mitigation in retirement and wealth accumulation vehicles
Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required
