Job Description
The Data & Documents Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing support of the Air Transat publications as well as the hands-on work on these manuals.
The Data & Documents Manager will coordinate all publications needs for Air Transat, which will include managing an internal team that coordinates across the organization and externally with aircraft maintenance suppliers.
The Data & Documents Manager will be responsible for all legacy paper technical publications & systems, monitoring and dispositioning regulatory updates, as well as the management of an electronic technical publications library (XML) that supports both maintenance organization and the airline for compliance to the CARs and industry standards.
Main Responsibilities
Content Management
Improve best practices for document management and publications;
Standardized process control and manuals publication;
Control published document versions in the Company and with its Partners;
Conduct Document monitoring in multiple vendors;
Obtain, create and modify technical documentation ;
Quality Management
Test and approve deliveries of information management tools (AMOS, Orlando, Airbus Online);
Configure applications related to document management and editing;
Coordinate with external vendors and follow up;
Investigate data issues in technical manuals;
Physical Support Management
Oversee and ensure new external regulatory and OEM requirements are captured and distributed internally (CARs, AD, SB)
Act as a point of contact with the IT department to coordinate projects and initiatives;
Team Management
Supervise a team of digital documentalists;
Produce reports and support audits;
Become the reference for Documents & Data for the entire company;
Qualifications
College degree in a relevant field [asset, equivalent experience will be considered
10 years of experience in aviation or rail
Knowledge of the field of aircraft maintenance and air operations;;
Very good knowledge of computer software
Knowledge of XML;
Knowledge of documentation management
Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Knowledge of S1000D, ATA, SGML and DITA standards for technical manuals; [asset]
Working knowledge of the CAR’s Canadian aviation regulations
Bilingualism (English and French): oral and written;
Ability to effectively communicate and organize several files [essential]
Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team;
Initiative, autonomy, thoroughness and ability to delegate;
