Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) Permanent Part-time (0.6 FTE, 22.5 hours/week)
Woolwich Community Health Centre (WCHC), a multi-site health centre with locations in St. Jacobs, Wellesley and Linwood, requires a permanent part-time Physiotherapy Assistant (0.6 FTE, 22.5
hours/week). The PTA
provides treatment within their full professional scope to achieve WCHC clients’ goals and improve their quality of life. The PTA will work under the supervision and direction of a Registered Physiotherapist and support WCHC clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out the assigned treatment plan as instructed by the Physiotherapist.
Support clients with exercises and functional mobility tasks.
Monitor and document client progress, observations, and responses to treatment (with PT review and oversight)
Processing referrals as directed by the Physiotherapist, maintaining a referral database, booking patient appointments, documenting treatments in the EMR according to WCHC charting policy and College record keeping guidelines.
Assist with basic equipment setup, safety and infection control measures that apply to each patient.
Coordinating WCHC’s fitness program
Maintain appropriate communication with supervising PT, and interdisciplinary team members.
Qualification and Experience Requirements:
Completion of a recognized Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) diploma program from an accredited Canadian college
Previous experience in community-based care is preferred.
Strong communication skills
Ability to follow PT treatment plans accurately and safely.
Ability to independently manage scheduling, respond promptly to referrals, and coordinate visit times directly with clients.
Experience working with diverse client populations and rural communities an asset.
Flexibility to work one evening per week.
Proficiency in clinical documentation and EMR systems
CPR/First Aid, vulnerable sector check, and immunization compliance required.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary of $23.41 to $ 28.41
per hour
4 weeks paid vacation (pro-rated to working status)
