In this capacity, FTC performs analysis, employs data science, and builds models across a variety of financial functions, including capital adequacy, strategic asset allocation, valuation and automated decision making.
The Opportunity
FreeThink Capital is looking for a permanent, fulltime Investment & Research Associate to join a team of exceptional professionals that come from some of the top hedge funds and schools in the world. FTC consists of a small, tightly knit team that values quantitative/analytical thinking, evidence-based decision making, intellectual curiosity and humility.

Position Responsibilities
Operations
Execute day-to-day investment and trading operations
Implement investment strategies and daily trade execution processes
Design, prepare, and deliver key portfolio reporting (monitoring investment performance, portfolio risk, position and factor concentrations)
Daily reconciliation and trade coordination with external service providers (including executing and prime brokers, custodians, and fund administrators)
Regular & ad-hoc updating of key inputs and features that support a live automated loan adjudication model
Research
Assist with the maintenance, updating and evolution of capital adequacy models
Refine and improve asset liability matching program
Ad-hoc research on systematic, quantitative investment strategies
Ad-hoc requests to analyze specific investment hypotheses
Required Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or Sciences
Familiarity with basic investment and financial concepts (e.g. financial statement analysis, Sharpe ratios, efficient markets, etc.)
A grasp of fundamental statistics (e.g. standard deviation, normal distributions, probability, etc.)
Intermediate to advanced skill with MS Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or in progress
Post-graduate education is an asset
Previous experience in an investment operations role
Previous experience researching and/or implementing systematic investment strategies
Familiarity with Bloomberg, S&P ClariFI, SS&C Geneva

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with the quality and experience of the selected individual. Assistance with moving expenses will also be included.
