Job Type: Permanent The Role: Are you an upcoming or recent graduate looking to start your career as an Instrumentation Technician within the energy industry? Keyera is seeking a New Graduate Instrumentation Technician Apprentice to join our Maintenance team. You will be based at the Strachan facility, located 33km west of Rocky Mountain House. This is a hands-on role where you’ll develop your skills in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair in a fast-paced industrial setting. As part of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the facility and Keyera. As an Instrumentation Technician Apprentice, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills in a supportive, safety-conscious work environment. Key Responsibilities: Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and optimize plant process control equipment such as control valves, transmitters, custody transfer meters and gas chromatographs. Organize and/or conduct daily instrumentation activities based on daily Maximo work orders. Participate in preventative maintenance programs including the generation of work orders/capturing work history. Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports as required in Maximo as per Operational Excellence requirements. Contribute to short and long-term planning for facility optimization. Support the Engineering team with project work. Build strong collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships with the G+P Facility staff and the Corporate Project teams. Ensure a safe, supportive and productive work environment between yourself, your communication channels, and all other members of the team. Support, promote and contribute to the continuous improvement of business, operations, and relationships. What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual who is passionate and eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have: Enrolled in an Instrumentation Certification program (indentured apprentice) OR recent RAP program graduate with a strong interest in pursuing Instrumentation. Must have graduated in the previous 24 months. Previous experience within the oil and gas industry is an asset. Experience with Maximo work order processing is considered an asset. Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment. Self-starter who can work independently with a minimum of supervision. Strong team player with proven communication, problem solving and decision-making skills. Highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail. Valid Driver’s License. H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG and First Aid Certificates are an asset. Physically able to perform all components of the position (lifting, working at heights, etc.).
