About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Team Administrator & Contract Coordinator to provide exceptional administrative and organisational support to the Farming Excellence & Extension team. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations across programmes and projects, supporting diary and travel management, coordinating reporting, and assisting with contract processes.
You’ll work closely with the Executive Assistant to the GM Farming Excellence & Extension, as well as the wider Farming Excellence and Extension team, linking key activities across research, product development, extension design, and delivery. This is a dynamic role requiring attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What we ask of you
A Business Administration qualification at diploma level or equivalent experience.
Minimum of three years’ experience in an administration or coordination role.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to multi-task across diary management, travel coordination, and meeting logistics.
High-level competence in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to adjust style for different audiences.
A proactive, results-focused approach, able to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Commitment to B+LNZ’s values, integrity, and a willingness to develop understanding of Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and Te Reo.
Location & Travel
It is our preference to have someone full time in this role, however for the right candidate, we are open to considering part time (minimum 30 hours per week).
Ideally based in Hamilton although any B+LNZ office will be considered. You will be required to travel occasionally to represent Beef + Lamb New Zealand and participate in regional and national collaborative processes or similar forums.
What we offer
This career move builds your expertise in a field that contributes to one of New Zealand’s most important export industries and the New Zealand economy. We offer:
Competitive remuneration and excellent employee benefits, including additional leave entitlements.
A fully-subsidised life insurance policy.
A work culture that values and rewards passion, integrity, professionalism, and strong workplace relationships based on respect and whānau.
We’re investing where farmers told us it matters most - behind the farm gate - with a commitment to ensuring our work adds value to farmers’ bottom lines. This role is part of delivering our refreshed strategy - learn more on B+LNZ’s website here.
