JOB TITLE JOB DESCRIPTION Mission of the Role (What you will be doing)
The Forklift Operator reports to the location Supply Chain Manager with direct responsibilities focused on but not limited to, overall warehouse functions including receiving, picking, packing, loading, and unloading. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for the safe and effective use of forklift equipment to complete various day-to-day tasks with some lifting and packing. This is a teamwork-oriented role that will require strong interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively communicate with warehouse supervisors and coworkers, and an ability to problem solve while working to process and complete daily orders. Prior hands-on warehouse or forklift experience is required, an understanding of distribution and operations practices are an asset.
Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements)
Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely and in compliance with all company policies and OHSA requirements.
Receive, pick, pack, load, and unload products by hand or using equipment
Load, unload, move, and stage materials in shipping/receiving and warehouse areas.
Use WMS and RF Scanner to complete orders
Assist the team with overall maintenance and cleanliness
Work with supervisors to ensure shipments are processed and completed on time
Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and labels
Perform work in a safe and efficient manner.
Safely operate a forklift at all times, especially during lifting, backing, or when traveling around corners
Use a forklift to load/unload trucks and move material around the warehouse in a timely, efficient, and safe manner
Complete daily pre-operational equipment inspections and report defects immediately.
Verify load accuracy, including load count, stability, and product condition, and report variances as necessary
Perform receiving, picking/packing duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards
Maintain accurate inventory movement through scanning, labeling, and staging activities.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment while optimizing space utilization
Keep aisles, racking, and work areas clean, organized, and free from obstructions.
Follow pallet configuration standards and warehouse SOPs.
Assist with general warehouse duties, including manual handling and housekeeping.
Report all hazards, equipment concerns, or near misses promptly.
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Educational/Training Requirements/Experience (What your background should look like)
Valid Forklift/Lift-Truck Operator Certification (counterbalance, reach, or applicable equipment).
Knowledge/Experience working in a large distribution facility
Understanding of the Warehouse environment
Minimum 1 year experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures
Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory systems
High school diploma or equivalent

Able to function within a warehouse environment and complete tasks related to cleanliness, organization, and other tasks as required

Onsite position: remote work is not available due to operational requirements
Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and high-traffic equipment areas
Required use of PPE (steel-toe shoes/boots, high-visibility vest, safety glasses)
Standing, walking, bending, and operating equipment for extended periods
Additional Expectations
Must report fit for duty each shift
Must follow all safety protocols, including maintaining 360° awareness around moving equipment
Must comply with company attendance policies and arrive on time for scheduled shifts
Participation in safety meetings, refresher training, and equipment recertification as required
