Work hours: Required to work during business hours, after hours and/or on weekends regularly
Compensation: $25.00/hour

Working from CSI in Toronto, the Meeting Rooms & Events Support (Formerly Event Staff) reports to the Associate Director, Meeting Rooms & Events.
The CSI Event Staff will:
Act as a representative of our organization for CSI during events
Ensure the safety and security of the building during these events.
Ensure smooth operations and logistics during the event, working with the event organizers on hand and providing support.
Uphold CSI policies during events.
As with all CSI staff team members, brighten peoples’ days, connect people and ideas, build social networks, create an open and caring culture, and be at the heart of an incredible community.
CSI event staff must be SmartServe Certified
The CSI Event Staff can be assigned to the following positions:
Venue Staff
Event Staff
Bartender
Busser
Setup Support
Tear Down Support
Operational Support
Tech Support
Representing CSI
Engage with event organizers and attendees, within appropriate boundaries, to advocate for the mission and values of CSI and create a positive impression.
Be capable of addressing CSI-related inquiries and providing information or assistance. Events serve as a valuable platform for promoting our organization.
Deliver exceptional customer service to encourage continued engagement and participation.
Event Logistics Responsibilities:
Welcome the event organizer upon their arrival and collect any final details required.
Provide guidance and support for event setup including audiovisual (AV) arrangements and spatial layout.
Regularly inspect the event area and maintain vigilance.
Stay visibly present and engaged throughout the event; avoid remaining secluded behind a computer.
Ensure thorough clean-up by event organizers and their support team, including rearranging furniture, waste disposal, and dishwashing, while offering assistance as needed.
Properly secure the event space at the end of the evening.
Promptly report any issues or noteworthy matters to the Associate Director.
Proficiency in troubleshooting AV issues is an asset

We also aim to assist event organizers in adhering to our low-waste policy to the best of their ability.
At CSI, we place great emphasis on community and safety. Therefore, in line with our Covid policy, all individuals entering our premises are required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated. Event staff will be responsible for verifying the vaccination status of individuals upon entry to any CSI spaces.
