Role Summary
Reporting into the Sales Manager, the Technical Sales Associate plays a key role within the Purity Gas sales organization. This full-time, hybrid role manages a portfolio of SMB and mid-market opportunities while supporting the enterprise sales team with technical input, proposal development, and sales process coordination.
The Associate manages qualified inbound opportunities, drives them through the sales cycle, and contributes to technical design and quotation development for larger enterprise projects. With experience, this role provides a defined growth path toward Account Executive responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Engagement
Qualify and manage inbound SMB and select Mid-Market leads, nurturing them into opportunities throughout the full sales cycle.
Conduct discovery calls to understand customer requirements, applications, and decision-making processes.
Prepare quotations, proposals, and RFP responses in collaboration with the Sales Manager and Account Executives.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries.
Follow up post-sale to ensure customer satisfaction and initiate ongoing support.
Maintain accurate opportunity data in the CRM to support forecasting and reporting.
Re-engage previously qualified or closed/lost leads to identify renewed opportunities.
Technical Sales and System Design
Select, design and configure nitrogen generation systems and related equipment based on customer needs.
Develop creative, application-specific solutions balancing performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Service teams to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
Sales Operations and Process Support
Prepare professional documentation, presentations, and technical materials for proposals and internal use.
Maintain organized records of quotes, drawings, and communications.
Support the optimization of CRM workflows and sales processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support department goals.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Engineering, Technology, or Business is preferred; equivalent technical experience considered.
2 to 5 years of experience in inside sales, technical sales, or technical support (industrial equipment or gas systems preferred).
Strong technical aptitude and ability to communicate engineered solutions effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident and professional with customers.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and CRM platforms (Salesforce experience an asset).
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Strong ownership mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
Eager to grow into an Account Executive role within a high-performing sales organization.
Work Conditions
Hybrid with potential to be remote
Regular full-time hours (37.5 hours per week), 5 days per week
minimal travel required, with potential for infrequent off-site meetings or events
