Summary

The Data Developer will support Precision’s Alpha™ Technologies product line by contributing to building and maintaining data pipelines and monitoring systems that ensure data reliability and quality. This role focuses on automation, performance optimization, anomaly detection, and implementing best practices for data integrity. The intern will work closely with the data engineering team to develop scripts, configure monitoring tools, and create dashboards for operational insights.
Responsibilities
Design and optimize batch and real-time ETL scripts for data ingestion and transformation
Implement automated checks for data quality and reliability
Configure monitoring and alerting systems for pipeline health
Participating in code reviews and discussions on software design/architecture
Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in the resolution
Develop and maintain technical documentation, system workflows, and code repositories
Create dashboards to visualize data quality metrics

Education
2nd year or higher in Pursuing or Recently completed Degree or Technical Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering
Experience
Experience with Python data development is needed
Writing SQL experience would be beneficial
Experience with Testing tools like PyUnit, UnitTesting, etc. is needed
Knowledge of anomaly detection or other machine learning techniques for quality detection is highly beneficial
Experience using source code management using Git is a must
Have some exposure in building high-performance algorithm pipelines
Familiarity working with Snowflake cloud data warehouse is an asset
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Services is an asset
Experience with Azure DevOps is an asset
Familiarity working with Grafana is an asset
Knowledge of ETL performance-tuning techniques
Familiarity with Confluent Kafka is good to have
Oil & Gas experience is a plus
