Veterinary Reception, Client Care Location: Saanichton, BC Compensation: $17.85 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience. Central Saanich Animal Hospital is looking for a part-time Receptionist, Client Care, to join our team. Our clinic is located in the heart of the beautiful Saanich Peninsula. We see a wide variety of creatures, including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, reptiles and even fish! This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital. In this role, you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and cared for while coordinating between them and members of the medical team. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have administrative experience, possess good computer skills (or a willingness to learn), a love of pets and their people, and a positive attitude. Familiarity with cash handling would be considered an asset as well as excellent customer service skills; you will be the first point of contact for our clients walking through the door and the last point of contact as they leave. Schedule: This position is part-time with a possibility of full-time. Shifts for this role are 4-8 hours and may include daytime or evenings until 7 pm. We are open 5 days per week, Monday to Friday. Key responsibilities: Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents; greet or acknowledge them upon arrival Answer multi-line phone system and direct calls appropriately Collect client and pet information for medical records Check emails; respond or redirect messages appropriately Admit and discharge pet patients Process insurance claims and payments from clients General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of work area and common areas Key attributes: Exceptional client service skills Compassion and nurturing attitude Take initiative and work independently Ability to remain calm in stressful situations Ability to adapt in changing situations Efficient in carrying out assignments independently Takes initiative to complete tasks throughout the day Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks A Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate is an asset but not required A love for all companion animals!!
