Under the general direction of the Director, Operations, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the Engineering Career Centre Co-op programming including student programming, employer development efforts, the PEY Edge conference, workshops, industry information sessions and career fairs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
- Analyzing client needs and making recommendations on event logistics and options
- Coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars
- Overseeing space and resource requirements for events and related programming
- Conducting post-event evaluation, analysis and recommendations for changes
- Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Planning and estimating financial resources required for programs and/or projects
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of recent and related experience in event coordination and program delivery.
- Experience planning and estimating financial resources required for events and/or projects, as well as monitoring and tracking expenses.
- Experience conceptualizing, organizing, and executing a high volume of events and activities with tight timelines.
- Experience analyzing client needs and making recommendations on event logistics and options.
- Experience developing survey and reporting tools to evaluate program and event success.
- Excellent project coordination and event management skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases and web (blogs, social media, email newsletters, etc.).
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple and competing tasks and deadlines.
- Positive energy with a can-do attitude, and collaborative team player who can also work autonomously.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders while effectively balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to demonstrate good judgement, initiative, tact and discretion and able to resolve issues, problems and competing goals.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexible and adaptable to work outside of core hours.

- Experience planning events for program related purposes.
- Familiarity with planning and delivery of student extra-curricular activities.
