Packaging Operator (12-Month contract)
This position reports into Packaging or Senior Packaging Supervisor and is based at Guelph, ON Canada.

What you will do
Packaging Operators contribute to the Guelph team while operating solid and liquid dosage packaging equipment. This function also includes line set up and assembly, operating material handling equipment, cleaning and sanitation of all related equipment and work areas, and the accurate documentation of these activities. Packaging Operators are committed to continuous quality improvement involving the identification and implementation of process improvements.
The individual will be required to monitor equipment functions, troubleshoot, and correct minor equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate solid and liquid dosage packaging equipment, including line setup, material handling, and sanitation.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Accurately document activities such as case counts, downtime, and SKU changes in production systems (e.g., Cockpit, Vorne).
- Comply with all safety and operational SOPs and participate in daily communications and team meetings.
- Complete required training in a timely manner.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Quality, Maintenance, and Processing.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed to support production operations.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2--4 years of packaging experience in a regulated, GMP-compliant environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems and production data entry.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing setting.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry.
- Familiarity with SAP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Physical Requirements \& Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver equipment as needed.
- Regular exposure to noise, dust, solvents, and temperature variations.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, shoes, and uniforms.
- No jewelry or cosmetics permitted in production areas.
- Shift work and extended hours may be required based on operational needs.
