Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. This role contributes to continuous improvement efforts by monitoring quality metrics, supporting audits, and assisting in process optimization across the organization.
Responsibilities \& Tasks
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Contribute to maintaining PyroGenesis ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications.
- Participate in the organization and execution of internal and external audits.
- Propose, revise, and control quality system documents (processes, procedures, forms, and work instructions).
- Help organize supplier audits to ensure the quality of incoming products and materials.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes and product quality, including implementation of new standards (e.g. ISO 13485).
- Facilitate the collection and analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Training \& Support
- Promote the development and delivery of training related to quality practices and QMS compliance for employees.
- Propose actions to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the company.
Risk Management \& Non-Conformance
- Participate in the monitoring and reporting of quality issues, including non-conformities.
- Contribute to the identification, documentation, implementation and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with process owners to assess risks and support the implementation of actions to control and mitigate them.
Education \& Qualifications
- DEC in Quality Assurance, Industrial Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Preferred: Bachelor's in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Business Administration degrees with a focus on Quality Management or Operations are also relevant.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and basic understanding of quality management principles.
- Familiarity with AS 9100 standards for aerospace and ISO 13485 for medical devices.
- Knowledge of metallurgical manufacturing process is an asset.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented and possess investigative qualities.
- A good knowledge of Excel and Power BI is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to ensure efficient coordination with co-workers, management, and regulatory authorities.
- Knowledge of English (written and spoken) is an asset.
Experience
- Any level of experience will be considered with a preference given to candidates with previous exposure to ISO 9001 or related quality standards.
