Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our skilled trades team during the afternoon shift (3:00 PM -- 11:00 PM) . This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability through effective preventive maintenance , and supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with a solid background in maintenance supervision and a proven ability to drive performance, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance trades personnel on the afternoon shift.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members while promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
- Oversee daily maintenance operations including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders and maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and spare parts inventory.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and safety teams to support operational goals.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Support and enforce compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in a technical field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial).
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Experience in a unionized site
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
- Experience leading and managing skilled trades and maintenance technicians.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Ability to work the afternoon shift (3:00 PM -- 11:00 PM) on a regular basis.
