On behalf of our valued Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Senior IT Infrastructure Manager to join our Client's team on a Regular Full-Time basis. This role is Hybrid with some onsite work required; the Client's head office is based in downtown Vancouver, BC.
Summary of the Role:
The Senior IT Infrastructure Manager will lead the IT Infrastructure, Security, and Database Administration teams, ensuring operational excellence across multi-site manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for strategic and tactical IT planning, resource management, cybersecurity enhancement, and vendor partnership development, while also inheriting design and architecture oversight to align IT initiatives with business goals.
Duties \& Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage IT infrastructure, security, and DBA teams to support business operations.
- Develop and implement IT strategies that enhance security, efficiency, and scalability.
- Oversee technical operations, ensuring infrastructure integrity across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Foster collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Provide design and architecture leadership, filling the gap left by the outgoing Solutions Architect.
- Ensure the security and resilience of IT systems, including managing VPNs, firewalls, and encryption technologies.
- Support digital transformation initiatives and promote effective use of IT systems and resources.
Core Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in large-scale IT infrastructure planning and operations.
- Hands-on technical background in IT infrastructure, networking, and server architectures.
- Strong knowledge of network security technologies and practices.
- Experience working in manufacturing environments.
Desired Skills \& Experience:
- Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, and Azure environments.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, MIS, or related fields.
- Experience managing hybrid teams (remote and onsite).
- Demonstrated ability in program and project management.
- Familiarity with mining, forestry, or related industries (considered an asset).
Terms
This position follows a Hybrid work model-- 3 days on-site, with the possibility of additional onsite presence during the initial weeks or as required for meetings and training. Compensation includes bonuses and a generous benefits package including pension.
