Ciao! An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Events Manager to join our team at Oretta Hospitality.
About The Role
As part of this role, you will plan events, create customized menus, and work with numerous suppliers in the management of bespoke events for our many valued clients. We are a passionate team looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for hospitality excellence. Whatever the occasion or event in our dining rooms or caffè is, our overriding commitment to our guests is to provide the best dining environment, service levels and overall culinary experience that Italian hospitality has to offer any-time of day, 7 days per week.
About Us
Oretta first opened their doors in 2017 to provide Toronto's vibrant King West area with an authentic yet modern-day Italian culinary experience. In 2022, Oretta Midtown opened and we are very excited to announce the opening of our third location, Oretta Downtown, in Summer 2025. We focus on delivering genuine Italian cuisine, emphasizing fresh, high-quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods.
Our menu features a variety of classic Italian dishes with innovative twists on traditional recipes. About You
This is the perfect role for someone with a genuine passion for high end food, hospitality and service. We are searching for someone with the following experiences and attributes:
- Minimum of 3 years of previous event and catering planning experience
- A genuine interest in the catering and hospitality industry
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. OR relevant experience in event management. Certification in event planning (e.g., CMP - Certified Meeting Professional or CSEP - Certified Special Events Professional) is an asset
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills when interact with clients, vendors, and team members
- Excellent time management practices, with an ability to work quickly and solve logistical issues efficiently under pressure
- Experience working with a portfolio of high-level clients
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- A boundless appetite for food and produce - we live and breathe a passion for all things Italian food!
- Ability to ease into a strong, successful team and able to adapt to different environments quickly
- An incredible eye for detail and consistency
- Available to work weekends and after hours when required
- Exceptional presentation, appropriate for variety of clients and locations we service
- Previous experience working across multiple locations will be highly regarded
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
