Catering \& Events Manager - Full-Time Position

Bayview Golf \& Country Club is one of the GTA's premier private clubs, offering a dynamic calendar of member events, elegant private functions, and professional hospitality services. We are currently seeking an experienced Catering \& Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of both in-house member events and external bookings.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Clubhouse Manager, the Catering Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of private event bookings, including weddings, milestone celebrations, corporate meetings, and club-led member functions. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute a wide range of events including member functions, weddings, celebrations, and corporate events
- Act as the primary point of contact for members and clients throughout the planning process
- Prepare detailed event orders, floor plans, and timelines for internal teams
- Collaborate with culinary, service, and operations teams to ensure seamless event execution
- Conduct site visits, client meetings, and tastings as required
- Maximize space usage while maintaining a high standard of service and member priority
- Hire, train, supervise and motivate staff
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote event offerings and seasonal catering packages
- Develop and implement targeted marketing initiatives to grow private event bookings and increase catering sales
· Identify seasonal opportunities, market trends, and member needs to create compelling packages and promotions that drive revenue.
· Establish a structured referral program to engage members and clients and implement a post-event feedback and follow-up system to assess satisfaction, build long-term relationships, and generate repeat business.
- Maintain strong relationships with members, vendors, and partners
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in catering, events, or banquet coordination (preferably in a private club, hotel, or hospitality setting)
- Proven success managing multiple events simultaneously with a high level of organization
- Exceptional interpersonal and client service skills
- Proficient in catering/event software systems
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Smart Serve certified (or willing to obtain)
