OVERVIEW:
O'Brien Material Handling is seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Sales Manager to join their team. This key role supports the company's continued growth across Atlantic Canada by identifying new business opportunities, strengthening relationships with existing customers, and offering tailored solutions to meet their lifting needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and grow a regional sales territory through strategic business development initiatives
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements, take measurements, and scope out opportunities
- Prepare estimates and customized proposals aligned with customer specifications
- Act as the main point of contact for customers from initial engagement to post-installation review
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, purchasing, and finance teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Forecast demand and assist with inventory planning
- Represent the company at client sites across NB, NS, PEI, and occasionally NL
- Build long-term relationships
SKILLS \& QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial product or technical part sales
- Background in overhead crane systems or industrial equipment is an asset
- Strong estimating and technical selling skills, including reading blueprints and engineering drawings
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset
- Flexible travel schedule and self-motivated work style
WORKING CONSIDERATIONS:
This is a full-time, field-based position with regular travel throughout Atlantic Canada. The head office is located at the manufacturing facility in Memramcook, New Brunswick.
